Gorey Rugby Football Club
The rugby club was founded just over 50 years ago in late 1950's and since then has won many trophies ranging from south east titles to leinster league titles. The club has produced a number of proffesional players including Nick Popewell who represented Ireland and the Lions as well as Paul Boyle and Robin Copeland who are currently players for Connacht.
Gorey is currently playing in Leinster J1 league which is the top junior league in the country. The club also competes in the Provincial towns cup and the All Ireland Cup. There are two senior mens teams currently competing in leagues. The first team finished second in the league and last season got to the towns cup semi final. The seconds team finished sixth in their league and last season reached the plate final of the seconds towns cup.
The Clubs facilities include two pitches, a gym, five changing rooms, a club shop and a clubhouse with bar and kitchen. The clubhouse is available for function hire.
The club is located at Clonattin upper, Gorey, Co.Wexford.
